There is a bit of mystery around why Monique was chosen and Evelyn certainly has her fair share of hardships as she claws her way to the top. ![]() The narration was wonderful and added to the story. Boulley writes! Thank you Macmillan Audio for my ALC of this book. Each tidbit added more depth to the story and I could not put it down. I really did not know very much about the Ojibwe culture before reading this book and the little bits about traditions and spirituality were fascinating. ![]() I'm using kicker COMPvr8 8" dual voice coil subwoofers. Run by me again how I should wire my stealthbox to operate safetly on a single bridged channel with this amp. and come to think of it the door speakers too. I did have the gain on the subwoofer set high. which I'm not sure that they are even bad (in any case is a swollen capacitor inherently and automatically bad?) the capactors carry the same rating as the ones on the board. supposed to be the upgrade to them from fairchild semi-conductors. What is the recommended/max settings for gain to safely run on the amp? I wanted to add that the transistors I got are also an upgrade transistor RFP70n06 as upposed to FQP65n06. Anyway, so now I can compensate for that by backing the gain back down. Since I don't have HR speakers any more, the amp controls everything. I do have the gain set a little high because I don't use the volume on the stereo that high I was used to that when I used the HU's amp to driver the head rest speakers. I suspect it could have maybe not helped. The transistors and capacitors should be here thursday! We'll see what happens. Not sure if anyone cares about that, just thought I'd pass it on. They had the cheapest out of warranty repair rate at $80 everything included (including return shipping), but if this happens again, I think I'll try one of the more local $130 repair shops that can also clue me in to what's wrong and offer possible upgrades.īTW, in case no one knew, Ernie is gone from SS and I dealt with some other guy to get my amp sent in for repair. I don't usually go past 50% on my HU volume and my gain was properly set using a DMU. Last time and I expect this time too, they haven't offered up what was wrong or what I could've done to avoid or prevent it. This time I got occaisional turn on thump and intermittent putt-putt noise. The last time, both exhibited a putt-putt noise, a loud pop or shreik, then dead with accompanying burnt electrical smell. I have one in to SS right now for its 2nd service fix (the other one that was fixed at the same time is still holdig up, knock on wood!). I bought 3 SS Van Gogh amps for my minivan in 2006(?). bought it november of last yearĬan't help you on your issue, but thought I'd chime in to add a data point. The amp is a soundstream tarantula TRA680.4 4 channel amplifier. not circuitry or even still micro circuitry. I think this is mainly like industrial supplies for electricians work etc. but I'm finding only like electrical components etc. I looked in the phone book (obvously all are closed today). Particularly interested in what kind of places I should look into for getting these locally (radio shack does not have this transistor). just seems to all sort of start happening recently. Guys, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I hate to keep buying/fixing amps I know the speakers are hooked up right, I mean the system sounds incredible and the amp has never even went into protect at all. I'll apply new heat sink compound and seal her back up. I'm going to replace all of them with the same part number (FQP65n06) a total of 6. I'm still curious as to why it did this, what causes this I can't seem to find a straight answer on the internet anywhere, only I'm seeing it's quite common. Didn't seem to harm anything but them, a test of the diodes near by came back good, now I'm going to try and find these things locally (any suggestions?). WHY did it do it? Sure enough I opened it up, it has 6 FQP mosfet 65N06 transistors and at least half of them are visibly damaged. Not something I'm unfamiliar with, I immediatly thought transistors since my JL audio amp did the same thing. I opened the trunk to find the amp SMOKING! anyway today I turned it on and the sound was real distorted. sometimes after driving a bit it would cure itself. gradually getting worse, particullary when the car was first started and the amp turned on. I noticed there to start to be some interference in the audio output about a week ago. This includes a more gradual and smoother. A new generation of specialized reels for slow jigging. Being honest, I used one of my credits to listen to Eddie on Audible. Having been a fan of the show "Leave it to Beaver" as a child, I really enjoyed this book. But I'm glad he wrote this book which gave me more insight into his life.Īs I said before this book is extremely hard to find at a decent price (I found some on E-Bay for much more than I was willing to pay), but if you're an avid LITB fan or even a fan of Eddie Haskell, it's definitely worth reading. I really hoped to meet him in person because I've heard that he was extremely nice and personable. I liked this book-I really did-and it makes me sad that Ken is no longer with us. It's a great incentive to get through the chapters quickly, although I did enjoy looking at the many pictures that were included. The book contains trivia questions at the beginning of each chapter and the answers (plus another trivia question) are at the end. ![]() He mentions Eddie more in the last part of the book when he talks about the shows "Still The Beaver" and "The New Leave it to Beaver"and it made me want to watch that series again. I was disappointed with the lack of information about his stint as Eddie, but what he did mention was really entertaining. That part of the book was probably the most interesting. ![]() I really enjoyed reading about Ken's life particularly his childhood and his parents and family. He discusses his job as a police officer later in the book and's it's pretty interesting. It starts out strong, with his description of his near-fatal shooting as a police officer and it really had me intrigued. I put the blame for any errors on the proofreader, however.Īnyway, the book itself was great. Well I did find a couple but they weren't at all distracting and not enough to dampen my enjoyment of the book. I think my expectations were higher than they should have been. The book itself was really enjoyable but unfortunately I can't say that I loved it completely. After watching Leave it to Beaver on a regular basis (thanks to ME-TV), I developed an affection for Eddie, so I was really anxious to read Ken's book. It took a long time to find this book and I ended up buying it at full price which I rarely do, but in this case it was worth it. After meeting him, I can say, Ken is a real swell guy. And like Jerry Mathers says in the foreword: Ken is a great actor, because he is nothing like Eddie. ![]() In addition, Ken has been mistaken for John Holmes (the porn star), who Ken unsuccessfully tried to sue for using his name, and been mistaken for Alice Cooper (as Alice was once quoted saying "he was an Eddie Haskell growing up, which was mistaken as "I was Eddie Haskell growing up"). The first time, he was shot three times at point blank range, but his vest and belt buckle saved him. Quite the life, besides acting, Ken was an LA police officer and was shot twice (!) in the line of duty. I always like to check and see if a personality I am going to meet has a biography out, and in this case Ken Osmond did, so I picked it up and read it prior to meeting him on Saturday. So when I heard that Ken Osmond would be attending last weekend's comic convention in Hamilton (about 40 minutes from where I live), I knew I wanted to meet him and get his autograph for the collection. I can remember racing home every day at lunch to watch an episode. I was a fan of LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, growing up. A man who, as co-star Jerry Mathers said, “Was the best actor on the program, because he was so diametrically opposed to the character he played.” A devoted husband, father and patriot, he’s a man who’s been forever shadowed by Eddie Haskell, but whose own life, was even more amazing than the character he portrayed. Now it’s time to meet Ken Osmond, the man behind America’s preeminent bad boy. Political foes from both sides of the ideological spectrum love to accuse their opponents of, “acting like Eddie Haskell,” and when Kobi Bryant argues a referee’s call, tweets go out labeling him as an “Eddie Haskell.” Psychology Today Magazine has published articles about recognizing and treating “Eddie Haskell Syndrome” and Matt Groening created Bart Simpson as his own version of “the son of Eddie Haskell.” Even today, the name Eddie Haskell remains firmly entrenched in the American lexicon. The amazing phenomenon of Ken Osmond’s character is still going strong, over half a century after the show’s cancellation. And everyone in America knew an Eddie Haskell at some point in his or her lives. The poster child for sneaky, rotten kids everywhere, he was the reference point for cautious mothers to warn their children about. ![]() When child actor Ken Osmond stepped onto the set of Leave it to Beaver in 1957, he not only entered our living rooms, he homesteaded a permanent place in the American pop culture.
